Mombasa County

Mombasa County is one of the 6 counties of the Coast region (formerly Coast province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Mombasa District in Coast Province. Size wise it is the smallest largest county, covering an area of 215 km2 and the 15th in terms of population with 939,400 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Kilifi County to the north, Kwale County to the south, Kwale to the west and Indian Ocen to the east.

Mombasa County has 6 Constituencies, Changamwe, Jomvu, Kisauni, Nyali, Likoni, and Mvita.

The County headquarters of Mombasa is Mombasa Town.
