Laikipia County

Laikipia County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Laikipia District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 15th largest county, covering an area of 8,700 km2 and the 39th in terms of population with 399,300 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Samburu County to the north, Nyeri and Nyandarua County to the south, Baringo to the west and Meru and Isiolo to the east.

Laikipia County has 3 Constituencies,  Laikipia West, Laikipia East, and Laikipia North.

The County headquarters of Laikipia is Nanyuki Town.
