Kwale County

Kwale County is one of the 6 counties of the Coast region (formerly Coast province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Kwale District in Coast Province. Size wise it is the 17th largest county, covering an area of 8,270 km2 and the 30th in terms of population with 650,000 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Kilifi / Mombasa County to the north, Indian Ocean/Tanzania County to the south, Tanzania to the west and Indian Ocen to the east.

Kwale County has 4 Constituencies,  Msambweni, Lunga Lunga, Matuga, and Kinango.

The County headquarters of Kwale is Kwale Town.
