Kajiado County

Kajiado County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Kajiado District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 9th largest county, covering an area of 21,290 km2 and the 28th in terms of population with 687,400 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Nakuru, Kiambu and Nairobi County to the north, Tanzania County to the south, Narok to the west and Machakos and Makoeni to the east.

Kajiado County has 5 Constituencies,  Kajiado North, Kajiado Central, Kajiado East, Kajiado West, and Kajiado South.

The County headquarters of Kajiado is Kajiado Town.
