Homa Bay County

Homa Bay County is one of the 6 counties of the Nyanza region (formerly Nyanza province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Homa Bay District in Nyanza Province. Size wise it is the 23rd largest county, covering an area of 3,155 km2 and the 13th in terms of population with 963,800 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Kisumu County to the north, Migori County to the south, Lake Victoria to the west and Kisii and Nyamira to the east.

Homa Bay County has 8 Constituencies,  Kasipul, Kabondo Kasipul, Karachuonyo, Rangwe, Homa Bay Town, Ndhiwa, Mbita, and Suba.

The County headquarters of Homa Bay is Homa Bay Town.
