If you forget you mpesa PIN, and you enter the wrong PIN 5 times access to mpesa will be blocked. You can get unblocked and get a new PIN by any of the following methods:
Blocking your MPESA Pin can be very frustrating as you cannot send or receive money, pay bills or buy airtime.
- Calling Safaricom Customer care
Call 100 for a prepaid customer or 200 for postpaid customers.
The customer care desk will confirm ownership by asking some simple questions such as Name, last transaction, ID number or your Mpesa balance.
If the details are correct they will Unblock your Mpesa account Immediately and SMS you a new PIN
After the account is unblocked, you may set a new PIN
- Direct message customer care on Facebook or Twitter
Go to their Facebook/twitter account
Message them your Phone number, Full Names, ID Number and a request to be unblocked. You will either get a call from customer care request further details for confirmation of ownership or an SMS notifying you the new PIN.
- Visit any Safaricom customer care centre with your Original National ID Card and they will unblock the Mpesa account for You.
If your mpesa account is blocked, but you know the pin, you can get it unblocked by dialling *100# for prepaid or *200# for postpaid and following the prompts.
