Uasin Gishu County
Uasin Gishu County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Uasin Gishu District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 27th largest county, covering an area of 2,955 km2 and the 17th in terms of population with 894,200 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.
The county borders Trans Nzoia County to the north, Nandi County to the south, Kakamega to the west and Elgeyo-Marakwet to the east.
Uasin Gishu County has 6 Constituencies, Soy, Turbo, Moiben, Ainabkoi, Kapseret, and Kesses.
The County headquarters of Uasin Gishu is Eldoret Town.
