Siaya County
Siaya County is one of the 6 counties of the Nyanza region (formerly Nyanza province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Siaya District in Nyanza Province. Size wise it is the 31st largest county, covering an area of 2,500 km2 and the 21st in terms of population with 842,400 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.
The county borders Kakamega and Busia County to the north, Lake Victoria County to the south, Busia to the west and Vihiga to the east.
Siaya County has 6 Constituencies, Ugenya, Ugunja, Alego Usonga, Gem, Bondo, and Rarieda.
The County headquarters of Siaya is Siaya Town.
