Samburu County

Samburu County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Samburu District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 10th largest county, covering an area of 20,180 km2 and the 45th in terms of population with 224,000 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Marsabit County to the north, Laikipia and Marsabit County to the south, to the west and Marsabit and Isiolo to the east.

Samburu County has 3 Constituencies,  Samburu West, Samburu North, and Samburu East.

The County headquarters of Samburu is Maralal Town.
