Nakuru County

Nakuru County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Nakuru District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 19th largest county, covering an area of 7,510 km2 and the 4th in terms of population with 1,603,400 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Baringo County to the north, Narok County to the south, Bomet and Kericho to the west and Nyandarua and Kiambu to the east.

Nakuru County has 11 Constituencies,  Molo, Njoro, Naivasha, Gilgil, Kuresoi South, Kuresoi North, Subukia, Rongai, Bahati, Nakuru Town West, and Nakuru Town East.

The County headquarters of Nakuru is Nakuru Town.
