Lamu County
Lamu County is one of the 6 counties of the Coast region (formerly Coast province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Lamu District in Coast Province. Size wise it is the 21st largest county, covering an area of 6,500 km2 and the Least in terms of population with 101,600 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.
The county borders Garisa County to the north, Indian Ocean County to the south, Tana River to the west and Indian Ocen to the east.
Lamu County has 2 Constituencies, Lamu East, Lamu West.
The County headquarters of Lamu is Lamu Town.
