Kisii County
Kisii County is one of the 6 counties of the Nyanza region (formerly Nyanza province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Kisii District in Nyanza Province. Size wise it is the 42nd largest county, covering an area of 1,320 km2 and the 7th in terms of population with 1,152,300 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.
The county borders Homabay County to the north, Narok County to the south, Migori to the west and Nyamira to the east.
Kisii County has 8 Constituencies, Bonchari, South Mugirango, Bomachoge Borabu, Bobasi, Bomachoge Chache, Nyaribari Masaba, Nyaribari Chache, Kitutu Chache North, and Kitutu Chache South.
The County headquarters of Kisii is Kisii Town.
