Kilifi County

Kilifi County is one of the 6 counties of the Coast region (formerly Coast province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Kilifi District in Coast Province. Size wise it is the 13th largest county, covering an area of 12,250 km2 and the 8th in terms of population with 1,109,800 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Tana River County to the north, Kwal / Mombsa County to the south, Taita-Taveta to the west and Indian Ocen to the east.

Kilifi County has 7 Constituencies,  Kilifi North, Kilifi South, Kaloleni, Rabai, Ganze, Malindi, and Magarini.

The County headquarters of Kilifi is Kilifi Town.
