Busia County
Busia County is one of the 4 counties of the Western region (formerly Western province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Busia District in Western Province. Size wise it is the 41st largest county, covering an area of 1,630 km2 and the 25th in terms of population with 744,000 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.
The county borders Bungoma County to the north, Siaya County to the south, Uganda to the west and Kakamega to the east.
Busia County has 7 Constituencies, Teso North, Teso South, Nambale, Matayos, Butula, Funyula, and Budalangi.
The County headquarters of Busia is Busia Town.
