Bungoma County

Bungoma County is one of the 4 counties of the Western region (formerly Western province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Bungoma District in Western Province. Size wise it is the 38th largest county, covering an area of 2,210 km2 and the 5th in terms of population with 1,375,100 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Trans Nzoia County to the north, Kakamega County to the south, Uganda and Busia to the west and Uasin Gishu to the east.

Bungoma County has 9 Constituencies,  Mount Elgon, Sirisia, Kabuchai, Bumula, Kanduyi, Webuye East, Webuye West, Kimilili, and Tongaren.

The County headquarters of Bungoma is Bungoma Town.
