Baringo County

Baringo County is one of the 14 counties of the Rift Valley region (formerly Rift Valley province) and is one of the 47 counties of Kenya that were created by the 2010 constitution. It was curved out of the former Baringo District in Rift Valley Province. Size wise it is the 14th largest county, covering an area of 11,075 km2 and the 34th in terms of population with 555,600 inhabitants as per the 2009 population census.

The county borders Turkana County to the north, Nakuru County to the south, Elgeyo Marakwet to the west and Laikipia to the east.

Baringo County has 6 Constituencies,  Tiaty, Baringo North, Baringo Central, Baringo South, Mogotio, and Eldama Ravine.

The County headquarters of Baringo is Kabarnet Town.
